What are those little green squares that show up with our names when we post something?? When you hover over them you see a ToolTip message.

I'm a mechanical engineering and also have an MBA degree.
I work as a support engineer.
My lawyers tell me that I cannot apply in EB2, since my Post grad degree is unrelated to my grad degree and so does not apply to my job.
Is this true?

I have just gone thru March recording of IV lawyer call and the below caught my attention. Ms Susan mentioned that any company name change after I140 approval has to refile I 140. I am utterly confused as that particular scenario affect me and i would like to know what best course of action i can take at this point.
I filed LC and I 140 with company A
My I 140 got approved
Before i filed my I 485 my company changed its name
I asked my attorney at that time if we need to take any special action
Attorney said they can just add an amendment while applying for I 485 about name change and apply with approved I 140, which is with old company name.
I and my wife work on EAD for past 3 years and i am still employed with same company. I wonder which one of above attorney is correct and what i should do.
Does the fact that my I485 is pending for more than 180 days after approval of my I 140 will come to rescue in case of question about company name change (AC21)

I am kind of worried with all these.
I presently work for company A whose first 3 years of visa will expire in oct end.
In july sometime I requested company B to file a transfer and they did and it got approved .the date starts from july.However i told company B that i need more time t join them and they agreed to it.
While i was talking to compay A attorney for extension i mentioned to him that i ahve another H1b approved from company B. To which he said ," if that H1b is filed as concurrents then its not a problem. But if its filed as "change in emplyer" then you should have been working for that emplyer from the start of its approval." However company A attorney agreed to jsut file extnesion wihtout mentioning the another approval.
I then asked the i-129 petion frm company B and found that its filed as "change in emplyoer". I asked him about the problmes i might face in extnesion with compnay A visa to which he said.."Don't worry..you don't need to mention about second approval while extneding with company A. You won't have problem gettign extension". it need to be filed as "change in emplyer not concurent.Is this true....???

This is pretty confusing to me as to what I am can and cannot do with an EAD/AP combination. Right now I am on an H1-B visa. What are the major differences from getting a green card, other than the fact that if the green card is rejected for some reason, I would have to leave the country For example, on EAD/AP, can I:
1. Quit my current job and sit at home, and do nothing?
2. Start a company?
3. Go to Full time MBA school?
4. Go to part time MBA school with my current job?
5. Switch jobs as many times as I want using AC21?

I-130 does play a role, when applying for visitors visa. but that doesnt disquialify anyone from getting visa. you have to show string ties to your country and provide enough evidence that you will come back. there are cases where they hv granted 10yrs multple visas !!
As long as you disclosed your sister's immigration intent in the paper work and sent the right paperwork, it shouldn't be a problem.

If you were subject to the cap for the last H-1B, you will not be subject again. The new employer would need to file a change of status for you, changing you from B-2 back to H-1B.

Hi..
i am currently on my 8th year h1..and on the bench..hoping some projects will come thru in a week or so.
Currently i have been on LOP for almost 5 weeks now..
what do you think would be a good option for me:
a.) Start the process for H4..and find a new job..and transfer H1 and stay till H1 is valid till may 2010..
b.) Be on bench for few more weeks.. and hope someting will work out...(firm has said they wont cancel my h1/140).. they are just being helpful..but?
c.) R2I ASAP...and try for a consular processing....?
d.) go to H4...and R2I in May...then if the Eb2(Dec 2005) dates are current..try for a CP..its a long shot...
i am confused..any suggestions??
